GhostHunts respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content on GhostHunts infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice of claimed infringement.
What to Include in a DMCA Notice
Your notice must include all of the following to be actionable:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are involved
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and information sufficient to locate it (e.g., the direct URL of the evidence post or comment)
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner
How to Submit a DMCA Notice
Send your completed notice by email to our designated DMCA Agent:

We will process valid notices promptly and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing content. We will also notify the user who posted the content.
Counter-Notice
If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to dmca@ghosthunts.com. A valid counter-notice must include your contact information, identification of the removed content and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district.
You can report individual evidence posts and comments directly from the platform using the βReportβ action available on each item. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, who may take the following actions:
- Dismiss the report (no violation found)
- Hide the content from public view pending review
- Permanently remove the content
- Suspend or ban the account responsible
All moderation actions are logged for accountability. Abuse of the reporting system (e.g., filing reports in bad faith to silence other users) may itself result in account action.
For reports that cannot be submitted through the in-app report flow (e.g., impersonation of your identity, coordinated harassment), email safety@ghosthunts.com.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency services (911 in the US) before contacting GhostHunts.
To report a safety concern related to content on GhostHunts β such as someone disclosing plans to harm themselves or others, or a hunt event that appears to involve illegal access to a location β email safety@ghosthunts.com with as much detail as possible, including relevant URLs.
